Virgin celebrities

TEEN QUEEN HANNAH MONTANA - MILEY CYRUS

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has it all - beauty, bucks, and most of all brains.

When pregnancy rumors circled in the tabloids Miley jumped on the chance to squelch them quickly on Extra stating, "It's given me the street cred to say that would be IMPOSSIBLE because I'm living my life the way I believe is right, and that is to stay pure."

Miley Cyrus has made it perfectly clear that she does not believe in sex before marriage, saying, "NO, I DON'T AT ALL!"

JONAS BROTHERS - JOE, KEVIN AND NICK

The hugely popular Jonas Brothers show off their purity rings with pride. They symbolize as Joe puts it, "promises to ourselves and to God that we'll stay pure till marriage."

Joe is 18 and his ring is silver with a cross. "It actually ripped apart a little bit, just on the bottom; but I didn't want to get a new one because this one means so much to me," he says.

Nick who is 15 says, "I got mine made at Disney World. Its pretty awesome."

Older brother Kevin, who is 20, got his punk rock studded ring at Tiffany's. "Its pretty rock and roll," he says, and "Its getting banged up a little bit because of the guitar."

American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks

American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, is a virgin; and she's proud of it! Many fans noticed the plain band on her finger during her rise to fame on American Idol. It looked a lot like a wedding band. Jordin stated:

This isn't a wedding ring, and there's no boy anywhere.

Jordin explained that the ring she has worn since she was 13 is her "purity ring." It's inscribed with the words True Love Waits, and it represents her vow to remain chaste. Jordin says:

I haven't been in love yet. I am saving myself for marriage.

Jordin won the hearts of millions with her beautiful voice, hard work, and charm. She's proud of the choices she's made and has an amazing life before her.

Who needs fathers?

I've just watched a programme on BBC iplayer on Who Needs Fathers? - Missing Dads.

It was really touching to think about those children longing to know who their father is and never really had the chance to do so. The programme is about 2 young lads who grew up without their fathers in their lives. Both of them came from broken homes but had made good of their lives - one used to be in the army and the other is now working as a youth worker.
I have always realised the importance of a fatherly role figure in a family. It is really disheartening to see a child going up in a broken home without the input of his/her father.

I know my Heavenly Father loves them and wants them to have the best in their lives too.

Marriage is between a man and a woman

Carrie Prejean, the 21-year-old Miss USA contestant has been the center of controversy since she declared her opposition to same-sex marriage in a response to a question on the pageant stage last month.

"Marriage is good," Prejean said at a news conference announcing the ad campaign. "There is something special about unions of husband and wife. Unless we bring men and women together, children will not have mothers and fathers."

I support her whole-heartedly. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. A child needs a mother and a father to have a healthy balanced childhood. It is sad how homosexuality has twisted that image.

A great friendship story in the Bible..

David and Jonathan

God, in His kindness, has blessed me with loving brothers and sisters in Christ as my friends..Tim Toase, Dr. Ronald Tong, Doreen Chai, Rebecca Chuo, Sook Meng, Tim Cross and family, Alasdair..

There are christian leaders I love..my Pastor Wyn Hughes, Aunty Rosy and Uncle Ivor, Revd. Patrick Wong, Ah BItalic

They have all taught me much about loving God and loving each other. They have rebuked me for my mistakes, pride and behaviour which needs to be changed and I am thankful for them. I know I am not perfect and I hope to be a better person each day in God's grace and mercy.

Today I would like to share about a great friendship story in the bible:

David and Jonathan

When David and Jonathan met, they became close friends at once. Their friendship is one of the deepest and closest recorded in the Bible.
  1. They based their friendship on commitment to God, not just each other
  2. They let nothing come between them, not even career or family problems
  3. They drew closer together when their friendship was tested
  4. They remained friends to the end.
Jonathan, the prince of Israel, later realised that David, and not he, would be the next king. But that did not weaken his love for David. Jonathan would much rather lose the throne of Israel than lose his closest friend.

True friends more than just enjoy each other's company..True friends encourage each other's faith in God and trusted each other with their deepest thoughts and closest confidences.
